Kitchen Fantasy welcomes Smita, food column writer for the Immigrant Magazine.  Originally from India , Smita has lived in the US for more than 25 years.  She is well known for her simple Indian recipes and has been written about in the Los Angeles times as well as the Orange County Register.  Smita is also the founder of Neemo’s Exotic Ice creams, a brand of Indian style ice cream and Saffron Spot, a popular snack bar in Artesia which features her exotic ice cream creations and other unique foods and desserts.

Indian cooking is well known all over the world for its use of spices in everyday cooking.  Spices have been around since ancient times, and have been used for a variety of reasons from food preservation to flavoring and for medicinal purposes.  Modern medicine is also recognizing the use of spices in healthful living. 

Join me as I show you how to cook up an Indian meal with spices and yet not have it be too spicy to eat.  Come hungry we make enough to fill you up in this class!
